Q：Why did you decide to join Nippon Sanso ATI?
I studied in the department of mechanical engineering at university, and wanted to work in mechanics. I had little knowledge about MOCVD equipment, but I researched it by myself, learned what a compound semiconductor is, and realized that it is very common and indispensable for our daily life. Then I became interested in it. That is why I applied to Nippon Sanso ATI.
Q：What do you find rewarding about your job?
When I am assigned to a project for a product, I must thoroughly manage the project including deciding the specifications, arranging the parts, designing and manufacturing and process control. I think it requires a great deal of responsibility. When a piece of equipment which I helped to produce is delivered to the user, I find that rewarding.
Q：How is the environment and atmosphere of the company?
Each staff member has a different role, but we are quite friendly with each other, and the atmosphere is very good, I feel.
Q：What were your impressions of the company before joining, and what are they now?
Before I joined the company, I imagined that I would just be quietly looking at the monitor by myself while designing products. But actually, we communicate with each other while engaging in individual work, and operate each part of the business in a cooperative way.
Q：Can you tell us about a time when something really went wrong, and how you dealt with it?
I once ordered parts with the wrong specifications for our products. It was a careless mistake on my part. After that, I try to double-check even the smallest things, to prevent the same mistake.
